The Society aims of is as follows :

1. To provide opportunities for personal contact and fellowship amongst workers interested in the field of plant physiology and related areas in agriculture, forestry, biotechnology and environmental sciences.
2.To publish Indian Journal of Plant Physiology.
3.To hold symposia, workshops and meetings on relevant themes of current interest in the field of plant physiology and related sciences.
4.To organize activities as may be necessary to realize the aims and objectives of the society.
